Proposed Animal Code - UPDATED
UPDATE (04/03/13): The proposed revisions were approved by the city council and the ordinance published in the April 3rd, 2013 edition of the Cordell Beacon. These new regulations are in effect and enforcement will be gradual on issues such as registration, but immediate on others such as dangerous dogs. We will be providing instruction and information about processes of registration when all administrative procedures are in place. We expect to begin the process within thirty (30) days and hope to have all dogs and cats registered by the end of the year. Please be aware that the registration only applies to dogs and cats over six (6) months of age. Other common household pets such as hamsters, rabbits, and fish are not included.
The attached document contains the proposed revisions to the City of New Cordell Ordinances, Part 4: Animal Regulations. These revisions are not in effect. The city council is expected to vote on these changes April 1st, 2013.
