A joint effort between the Cordell Police Department and the Washita County Sheriff's Office landed three people in jail on drug related charges. Officers served a search warrant at approximately 6:30pm on April 14th, 2014 in the 200 block of east Second Street.

Three suspects were arrested inside the home. Mikah Daniel Fritz, 26, was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Paul James Evans II, 33, and Curtis Wayne Maddox, 21, were each arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

“As always, we appreciate our working relationship with the sheriff's office,” said Chief of Police Daniel Allen. Allen continued, “We will continue our efforts to eradicate the illicit drug trade in our area. All of us should be able to enjoy our neighborhoods without concern over illegal activities next door. The location of this search was just across the highway from our city park. A park where my daughters play. A park where no parent should have to worry about their children. I promise to you, as a fellow citizen, neighbor, and friend – this department will continue its fight against drugs and keep the community safe for our children.”
